Guillaume Herbaut

Membre fondateur de l'agence L'Oeil Public. Il se rend depuis plusieurs années sur des lieux chargés d'Histoire, dont il réinterroge les symboles et la mémoire. Après Tchernobylsty, travail sur la catastrophe de Tchernobyl, et Oswiecim, un travail documentaire sur Auschwitz de nos jours, il s'intéresse à Skhodra, petite ville en Albanie du nord où des familles cloîtrées subissent encore la tradition de la vendetta. Guillaume Herbaut est l'un des pionniers du nouveau style documentaire. Son travail a été exposé à Visa pour l'Image en 2004, au Jeu de Paume en 2005, à la Maison Rouge et à Foto Espana en 2007.

Founding member of the agency L'Oeil Public. For many years now, he has been going to locations charged with history dedicating his work around the meaning of their symbols and memory. After Tchernobylsty, his work on the Chernobyl disaster, and Oswiecim, a photo-documentary around Auschwitz today, he concentrates on Skhodra, a small town in northern Albania where secluded families are still experiencing the tradition of vendetta. Guillaume Herbaut is one of the pioneers of the new documentary-style in photography. His work was exhibited at the Visa pour l'Image Festival in 2004, at the Jeu de Paume Museum in Paris in 2005, at the Maison Rouge, Paris, and at Foto Espagna in 2007.
